This is not a test by Courtney Summers

Synopsis (from Goodreads): It’s the end of the world. Six students have taken cover in Cortege High but shelter is little comfort when the dead outside won’t stop pounding on the doors. One bite is all it takes to kill a person and bring them back as a monstrous version of their former self...

This is not a book about zombies (how they die, how they eat, how they kill, how they live, etc.), so if you are gonna read it because of that, you'll be disappointed.

This book is about a girl so dead inside that she wishes to join those dead outside. Sloane is planning to kill herself when the Zombie infection breaks out. Somehow she finds herself sheltered in a school when all she wants is open the doors and go outside to be eaten.

But just because her world is suddenly plagued with zombies Sloane is going to change her plans. No sir; she's still going to find a way to go down. However, it is not a matter of opening the school doors and let the zombies in because the other kids sheltered with Sloane want to live.

I liked the way Summers kept focus on Sloane and the guys stuck in the school and did not add another story to that. The story develops at a pace that I'd say it's just right and it kept me glued to my Kindle.

Definitely a page turning with all the elements that make you love and hate (Trace) a book.
